Allan W. Spary, 89, of Grand Island, Nebraska died Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at his home with his loving family at his side. Allan was born June 27, 1936, in Dryden, Ontario. The son of William W. and Saimi O. (Hautakangas) Spary. He grew up and attended Fort William Collegiate and the University of Toronto. He received his Master’s at the University of Minnesota. In April 1975 he met Gayle Riordon and they married on August 16, 1975 in Rochester, MN. They made their home in Burnsville MN, adopted their children, Allan John and Andrea Elizabeth. Later relocating to Omaha, NE. Allan worked as a Mechanical Safety Engineer for Travelers Insurance retiring in 1998. The couple moved to Grand Island, NE and Allan worked for Shopko as a sales associate and also volunteered at St. Francis Medical Center.

Allan loved traveling with his wife. He was an avid Husker football and volleyball fan and enjoyed watching hockey. He had a love for dogs and enjoyed aeronautics. He was a past member of the Masons.

Daughter, Andrea Elizabeth Spary of Omaha, NE

Brother, Wayne (Ethel) Spary of Terra Haute, IN

Two nieces and one nephew.

Allan is preceded in death by his parents.
