Alfred E. Conner, 71, of Central City, Nebraska, died unexpectedly on Friday, October 20, 2017, at Merrick Medical Center, in Central City. Services will be Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at 1:30 p.m., at the First Baptist Church in Chapman, NE. The Rev. Beth Gregory will officiate. Burial will be in the Central City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the church. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. More details will appear later.
Alfred was born April 8, 1946, in Woodbury, New Jersey. He was the son of Denison D. and Bertha E. (Ericson) Conner.
Survivors of his immediate family include his aunt, Ruth Conner of Glenvil, NE
Cousins and their spouses, Jim and Chris Conner of North Platte, NE
Dan and Karen Conner of Omaha, NE
Alfred grew up in Woodbury, NJ, receiving his high school education there. He traveled with his family, while his father served as a Baptist Minister, living in five different states. He lived in Broken Bow before settling in Central City in 1984.
Alfred was an avid reader especially enjoying "Travel" books. He was accomplished at playing both the organ and piano. He frequently played at the Methodist Church in Chapman, the long term care unit in Central City and substituted for the Baptist Church in Chapman.

He is preceded in death by his parent, Denison and Bertha Conner, and his twin brother Kenneth J. Conner.
Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church in Chapman.
