Alberta D. Kosmicki, 83, of Grand Island, died, Sunday, February 3, 2013, at St. Francis Medical Center surrounded by her family. Services will be Thursday, February 7, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rev. Todd K. Philipsen, Rev. Mike Wetovick, Rev. Raymond M. Kosmicki will concelebrate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 6, 2013, from 4 7 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. Alberta was born September 6, 1929, at Scotia, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Benjamin & Hilda (Smith) Sautter. Survivors of the immediate family include her husband of 60 years Richard Z. Kosmicki, of Grand Island, NE Two grandsons and their spouse, Jeff & Tyeisha Kosmicki of San Antonia, TX Ben Kosmicki of Grand Island, NE One granddaughter, Breanna Kosmicki of Lincoln, NE One sister, Joann & Walt Jindresek of Davenport, IA One great granddaughter, Kyla Bertram Alberta grew up in Scotia graduating from high school in 1949. She moved to Grand Island after school and began working as a waitress at a diner in town. She married Richard Z. Kosmicki on April 19, 1952 at Grand Island. They lived in Grand Island. Alberta worked on the line at the Ordinance Plant and later helped with the family business, Dicks Sewing Machine Service. They also owned and managed rental property in town. She loved polka dancing, playing cards, Bingo, gardening, canning, baking and was a great cook. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son Gordon, sisters, Viola Yost, and Stella Smith, brothers, Marvin Sautter, Laurance Sautter, Dale Sautter and Lavern Sautter.
